DWI MANSLAUGTER CASE
My client John Doe was booked for DWI with a car load of teenagers present and where several small bottles of Miller beer were found at the scene of an accident.
Killed in the accident were an elderly female stockbroker and permenantly maimed was
another elderly woman. Defendant was a young male with a real estate license in the
State of New York who aspired to become an appraiser. The jury of 12 in Riverhead NY was all men, elderly and attentive. The verdict was Not Guilty of DWI and Manslaughter 1 and 2 and Guilty of driving while impaired and criminally negligent homicide and speeding. Sentence was Eight weekends in Suffolk County jail and
a period of probation. The Judge later signed the Certificate of Relief from Civil Disabilities so Doe (fictitious) could resume his business.
